Where can I learn about operating a successful business and business resources?
|
I have a good idea for a business but I feel that I'm lacking some of the basic knowledge for starting and operating a business. For example where can I find dropshippers for my products. How do I negotiate contracts etc etc. Are there any good books out there that cover questions like this or are there any other places where I can find information?

SCORE, Service Corps of Retired Executives, offers mentoring services for those who want to succeed in a new business but need some help. They have offices all over the country. You can find them at www.score.org. Answer 2
This forum will not allow contact information so if you reply to me and give me a email address I can give you options. I run a successful online based company with all those options, you will like the info. I like health and sports energy so my site has that tone. Since I deal with major companies I think it would be worth your time to communicate with me. Answer 3
The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.
I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.
Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can. Here are some book titles that are relevant:
* How to Really Start Your Own Business, Fourth Edition by David E. Gumpert
* How to Really Create a Successful Business Plan: Step-by-Step Guide by David E. Gumpert
* What No One Ever Tells You about Starting Your Own Business: Real-Life Start-Up Advice from 101 Successful Entrepreneurs (What No One Ever Tells You About Starting Your Own Business) by Jan Norman
* Business Start-Up Kit by Steven D. Strauss
* Start Your Own Business (Entrepreneur Magazine's Start Up) by Rieva Lesonsky
There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures! << GO BACK to questions
