What is the exact format for a manuscript of a novel (meaning font etc.) And are fantasy novels outdated?
|
I am asking because I am writing a novel, already on page 50, but first I have no intention on becoming a novelist, but would like to publish a one time deal kind of thing, considering if it's good. Anyway it's more of a dark type of fantasy novel (unlike Eragon and others) but I am not sure if this genre has been overdone, and if people even care for these types of books. Lastly, is a manuscript more or less the entire novel or only a piece of it? Thanks!

Hey :) Don't sell yourself short. At such a young age, her career will be geared into writing, publishing, book signings and who knows.
When I meet an author with a great book concept, one who’s definitely the right person to write that book, right away I’ll often encourage him or her to self-publish. This is because I know that an author is thoroughly invested in what they have to say. Your publisher can help you determine the genre if you like. And this is your book - no one should tell you what to do.
Maybe you would like to ask around and perhaps shop around. Many would also suggest getting an agent which could take SO long for them to sit down and actually notice what you have there and believe me, we are not just talking months here but years. Let me give you something to peruse at while you are at it and hopefully this will help in your ride to the wagon of success.
By the way, a manuscript is the hard copy of your book already before editing. Good luck! << GO BACK to questions
