I'm working on a research proposal and need a little help with my citation. I have a book that was written by 3 authors, but the book is mainly composed of scholarly articles that were written by others, for example, the book was written by Loring, Geffner, and Marsh, but one of the articles that i'm using is by Onyskiw. How in the world do I cite this in my paper?
Also, all of the articles that I'm using have other authors cited... I'm so confused as to how to cite something like this.
Before you say that I should be coming up with my own ideas, the assignment was to compile other people's research into a paper then come up with a way that I could sample the information.
I'm not too sure if it matters, but the paper has to be written in APA style.
Thanks in advance for your help!
Thanks! That helps with my citation page, but how do I cite it in my actual paper?!

It sounds as though you are writing a meta-analysis. do you have a copy of an APA publication manual?
You would cite it as:
Onyskiw (year) title of article, in then information about the book by loring
Article or Chapter in an Edited Book
Author, A. A., & Author, B. B. (Year of publication). Title of chapter. In A. Editor & B. Editor (Eds.), Title of book (pages of chapter). Location: Publisher. Answer 2

At the top of this page it tells you how to cite multiple authors, then scroll down to "Citing Indirect Sources" and that will answer your second question. The rest of this website is also pretty helpful for these types of questions. If your university required you to purchase a style manual, it should also be in there. Usually style manuals tell you how to write papers in MLA, APA, and Chicago styles. << GO BACK to questions
