I have all of my information, now I am going to put everything into words and write my book. It is going to be a non-fiction, factual book. What manuscript format do I need to use?

. Answer 2
Arial, size 12 Answer 3
Use the Modern Language Association format and have end notes and not foot notes. Footnotes while easier on the reader are very difficult to do. Answer 4
Do a search on Manuscript Templates and you can adapt them. Answer 5
Use one-inch margins all around and Times New Roman at font 12.
You can always place it in double-space format at your leisure by highlighting the text and then press Ctrl and the number 2.
Usually, the first paragraph of the book is not indented; only the succeeding paragraphs are indented. Answer 6
There are a lot of details to keep track of in proper formatting. One is to observe the format in the writers' guidelines of any potential publisher--if they want Times New Roman 16 on yellow paper, give it to them.
If they don't say, you want one-inch margins, double spacing, indented paragraphs with no extra blank line between them, no widows or orphans, proper sluglines, an unjustified right margin, no hyphenation, and more.
Complete format guidelines are scattered online, but this one is my favorite: http://www.writerswrite.com/journal/dec98/shunn.htm Answer 7
Take a look at my blog http://ajbarnett-story.blogspot.com/2008/04/conform-or-else.html to see how you should present a book to publishing houses. You might find some of the other hints and tips of use as well.
