That would depend on your publisher and what they were willing to do to promote it. Most likely very little. Except for celebrities like Madonna and Jamie Lee Curtis - exactly how many children's authors do you know who have "national exposure"? The truth - really none. Right now, it works the other way around. You have to have national exposure already to get a children's book published and on the shelves. The proof is in the bookstores. Just wander around a kids book dept. for an hour and make note of what you see. Big names get big book deals. Sad, but true. A publisher would be much more likely to plow marketing dollars into a book by Madonna than an unknown.
